If people don’t know how to buy from you… they won’t.

When a potential customer comes to your website, they are often dealing with a lot of different information. So many options, so many possibilities… it can get overwhelming.

Ask them to do one thing – your Call to Action (CTA).

Give them a big, clear button, clearly visible, with clear wording, that they can click to take the next step in their sales journey.

One reason that I recommend a clear Call to Action is that I’ve seen for myself just how effective they can be for helping a business to make sales. On one website I set up, providing a clear Call to Action had an instant impact: within hours of putting in place the button, customers were clicking it, and the website was making money for its owner!

How can you decide on a Call to Action for your company’s website?

Pick one thing – one thing – that you want your customers to do first.

Resist the temptation to offer many options.

Options can be great sometimes, but this is not the time for options.

Even if you offer one thousand products, you still give yourself an advantage if you offer one clear Call to Action, because your customer will be completely clear about what they should do next.

Pick a single, clear next step – and your customers will be so much more likely to take it.

For those who aren’t ready to take that step, consider asking for their email address.
